Well,
what a surprise this little man has been. I was
not looking for, nor wanting, another breeding
male quite yet, but how could I have passed him
up? Big arrived in the UK in March 2010 form
spain at the age of 10 months old as he had to
have rabies jabs and get his pet passport before
he was aloud in the uk. Big is jointly owned by
me and my good friend Clara, the owner of
Nandinakatts cattery (www.nandinakatts.co.uk).
Both Clara and I have the same aims when it
comes to breeding, and we are very excited to
have this opportunity to bring Big Bang to the
UK. Big lives with me as I have experience in
keeping entire male cats. He right in to living
at my house and soon made friends with the other
boys. I’d like say a big ‘thank you,’ also, to
Fabio and Lucia (www.treehousecattery.es) for
letting both Clara and me be the custodians of
this most handsome boy.
He has done well at his first show in the UK by
winning a BIV and beating other top Norwegian
forest cats to get it and he now has his first 2
certificates to wards being a champion.
First
of all, I would like to thank Darren and Jenny
Handy for breeding such a big bundle of joy, and
for helping me on my way as a breeder. I would
describe Merlin as a ‘David Beckham’ type —
beautiful, but not the brightest star in the
sky. Merlin is very easily led by Trouble
herself, and is her partner in crime. He is big
and beautiful, and such a big softy. When he
arrived he was not as bold as Matilda; in fact,
she would beat him up. Now, they are
inseparable, the best of friends. You can often
find the pair curled up in one big bundle
together. One of Merlin’s favourite past times
is washing people — he absolutely loves it.
Sometimes, however, he can get a bit carried
away with himself. Obviously, we aren’t clean
enough for him. Sorry Merlin!
What can I say about my little feline friend?
Well, for a start, he’s not so little anymore!
Aged only 9 months, he already weighs 5.5
kilograms. He is so handsome, loving and gentle
— a bloody little tearaway, too, who shows no
fear and runs around the house as if it were one
big adventure playground. Willum’s colour is
blue and white, but you have to look very
closely to find the white as it’s just at the
very tip of his tail. I have to thank Caroline
and John Tipper, or ‘the Tippers’ as I like to
call them, for this amazing fur-ball of fun,
since they knew that I wanted a blue stud boy,
and very kindly gave me first dibs on him. I am
so glad that I was able to take him home with
me!
Willum has done very well on the show bench and
won best Norweigian Male 2009.As a Kitten and a
Junior Willum has done very well indeed, he has
received numerous ex1’s and nomination in FIFFE
and has also won best in show kitten. I also
took Willum to a GCCF show and he won Best in
show Kitten and then went on to win best overall
in show beating some of the top Norwegian Adults
for the title.
I have also taken willum to a few TICA showsand now at 9 months old he has made a quadruple Grand champion I am so.so happy with my little blue boy. He seemed characteristically unfazed by the whole experience. He continues to show great promise, and hopefully has a very bright future ahead of him!
Gummy
what a delicious, scrummy, adorable little boy.
My good friend Clara aloud me to have him as I
feel in love with him when she first sent me a
photo, that was it I wanted him. He is such a
loving little man that just walks around the
house purring his little head off and spends his
nights sleeping on my pillow. He has done very
well at his first show winning 2 BIV’s and he
got him self nominated for best in show “well
done Gummy” I cant wait to see how he develops
no doubt he will grow up to be a hansom young
man.
